Classifying the post-duplication fate of paralogous genes
The paper describes a computational framework for the characterisation of duplicated genes and a formal feature-based differentiation of fates which allows the identification of novel patterns. To illustrate the steps, the authors simulate the evaluation of populations using aevol. The post-duplications fates described in detail include pseudogenization, double-neofunctionalisation, conservation, subfunctionalisation and specialisation. All mathematical and computational aspects of the study are described in detail. For the entire collection see [Zbl 1525.92003].
