Abstract: We construct a family of purely infinite -algebras, for that are classified by their -groups. There is an action of the circle with a unique state on each For , with its usual action and state. For rational in lowest terms, () with UHF fixed point algebra of type For any for infinitely many with distinct KMS states and UHF fixed-point algebras. For any For irrational the fixed point algebras, are NOT AF and the are usually NOT Cuntz algebras. For transcendental, , so that is Cuntz' , cite{Cu1}. If are both algebraic integers, the {f only} which appear satisfy For each , the representation of defined by the KMS state generates a type factor. These algebras fit into the framework of modular index (twisted cyclic) theory of cite{CPR2,CRT} and cite{CNNR}.
