According to the author ``the aim of the current paper is to understand under what conditions the determinant of a semigroup lying in the pseudovariety \textbf{ECOM} is non-zero and to study its factorization. Pseudovarieties of finite semigroups are considered. \textbf{ECOM} is the pseudovariety generated by finite inverse semigroups. Let \(S\) be a finite semigroup and \({\mathbb C}S\) denote the \(\mathbb C\)-algebra with basis \(S\). An \(S\times S\) matrix is defined over the polynomial ring \({\mathbb C}[X_S]\) where \(X_S= \{x_s \mid s\in S\}\) is a set of variables in bijection with \( S\). The determinant of this matrix is called the semigroup determinant of \(S\). On the semigroups of the pseudovariety \textbf{ECOM}, a partial order relation is introduced which is ``crucial for examining the determinant of these semigroups. The properties of such partially ordered semigroups are investigated. The calculation of the determinant of finite semigroups within the pseudovariety \textbf{ECOM} is given. At the end of the paper some examples are considered. The author says that his aim is to develop the ideas set forth by \textit{B. Steinberg} [J. Algebra 605, 1--36 (2022; Zbl 07532822)].
