The Riemann zeta function \(\zeta(s)\) is defined by \( \zeta(s)=\sum_{n=1}^{\infty}\frac{1}{n^s}, \) where \(s=\sigma+it\) is a complex number with \(\operatorname{Re}(s)>1\).\N\NIn the paper under review, the authors prove the following bounds (see Theorem 1.1). For \(t\geq e\), \N\[ \N\left|\zeta(1+it)\right| \leq \frac{1}{2}\log t+0.6633, \N\] \Nand \N\[ \N\left|\zeta(1+it)\right| \leq 0.6443\log t. \N\] \NTo establish the second inequality, the authors employ the Riemann-Siegel formula together with numerical computations. They further claim that the constant \(0.6443\) is best possible, in the sense that it gives the smallest constant \(v\) for which an inequality of the form \( \left|\zeta(1+it)\right|\leq v\log t \) holds for all \(t\geq e\).
