Abstract: Let L be the divergence form elliptic operator with complex bounded measurable coefficients, omega the positive concave function on (0,infty) of strictly critical lower type pozin(0,1] and ho(t)=t1/omega1(t1) for tin(0,infty). In this paper, the authors study the Orlicz-Hardy space Homega,L(mathbbRn) and its dual space mathrmBMOho,Last(mathbbRn), where Last denotes the adjoint operator of L in L2(mathbbRn). Several characterizations of Homega,L(mathbbRn), including the molecular characterization, the Lusin-area function characterization and the maximal function characterization, are established. The ho-Carleson measure characterization and the John-Nirenberg inequality for the space mathrmBMOho,L(mathbbRn) are also given. As applications, the authors show that the Riesz transform ablaL1/2 and the Littlewood-Paley g-function gL map Homega,L(mathbbRn) continuously into L(omega). The authors further show that the Riesz transform ablaL1/2 maps Homega,L(mathbbRn) into the classical Orlicz-Hardy space Homega(mathbbRn) for pomegain(fracnn+1,1] and the corresponding fractional integral Lgamma for certain gamma>0 maps Homega,L(mathbbRn) continuously into Hwidetildeomega,L(mathbbRn), where widetildeomega is determined by omega and gamma, and satisfies the same property as omega. All these results are new even when omega(t)=tp for all tin(0,infty) and pin(0,1).
