Asymptotic properties of orthogonal polynomials with respect to a non-discrete Jacobi-Sobolev inner product

The asymptotic properties of certain Jacobi-Sobolev polynomials are studied. Namely, the polynomials orthogonal with respect to the inner product \[ \langle f,g\rangle=\int_{-1}^1fg \,d\mu_{\alpha,\beta}+\lambda \int_{-1}^1 f'g' \,d\nu_{\alpha,\beta}, \] where \(d\mu_{\alpha,\beta}=(x-a)(1-x)^{\alpha-1}(1+x)^{\beta-1}dx\) and \(d\nu_{\alpha,\beta}=(1-x)^{\alpha}(1+x)^{\beta}dx\), \(\alpha,\beta >0\) and \(a<0\). The above measures are a particular case of the so-called coherent measures. The main results of the paper are concerned with the Mehler-Heine asymptotic as well as some estimates of the Sobolev norm.
