Rigid inner forms over global function fields

From MaRDI portal

Let \(F\) denote a global function field and let \(G\) stand for a connected reductive group over \(F\). In the paper under the review, the author develops a notion a rigid inner forms over \(F\) and relates the construction provided in the local settings in [Adv. Math. 430, Article ID 109204, 100 p. (2023; Zbl 1540.22035)] to the global Langlands correspondence for \(G\). This is enabled by the construction of an fpqc gerbe \(\mathcal{E}_{\dot{V}}\) such that the set of \(G_{\mathcal{E}_{\dot{V}}}\)-torsors contains a subset \(H^1 (\mathcal{E}_{\dot{V}}, Z \rightarrow G)\), and the localization map \(H^1 (\mathcal{E}_{\dot{V}}, Z \rightarrow G) \rightarrow H^1 (\mathcal{E}_{\nu}, Z \rightarrow G)\). Here \(Z\) denotes the finite central subgroup of \(G\).\N\NThe provided construction enables the author to formulate precise conjectures on the global \(L\)-packet \(\Pi_{\varphi}\) for an admissible tempered discrete homomorphism \(\varphi\). Also, a conjectural description of the multiplicity of \(\pi \in \Pi_{\varphi}\) in the discrete spectrum of \(G\) is provided.\N\NUsing the constructed global rigid inner forms, the author obtains a decomposition of the adelic transfer factor \(\Delta_{\mathbb{A}}\) for the ring of adeles \(\mathbb{A}\) of \(F\) as the product of the normalized local transfer factors.
