If \(R\) is a \(G\)-graded ring (\(G\) is a group) and \(H\) is a submonoid of the center \(Z(G)\), then a \(G\)-gradation on the semigroup ring \(RH\) is defined. Applications to graded rings and \(I\)-adic filtrations are given.
