The aim of the paper is to show that Hamburger's power moment problem is equivalent to finding all spectral functions of a boundary-value problem for a canonical system of differential equations with a Hamiltonian belonging to a certain class. All results in this paper are formulated without proofs in the previous article of the author [Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 33, No. 3, 81-85 (1999; Zbl 0951.47045)]. Detailed proofs are given here.
