On the hexagonal lattice the loop $O(n)$ model was considered as a graphical representation of the spin $O(n)$ model. The model depends on two parameters $n, \lambda \in [0,\infty)$. This model generalizes some known models: self-avoiding walk if $n=0$; the Ising model if $n=1$; critical percolation if $n=\lambda=1$, etc. Denote by $\mu$ the connective constant of the lattice and by $\lambda_c(n)$, where $n\in [0,\infty)$, the largest value of $\lambda$ such that the loop length admits uniformly bounded exponential moments. In the paper, for $\mathbb Z^d$, $d\geq 2$, and the hexagonal lattices it is proved that \[ \lambda_c(n)>{1/\mu}, \ \ \forall n>0. \] \[ \lambda_c(n)>{1/\mu}+c_0n+O(n^2), \ \ c_0>0, \ \ n\to\infty. \]
