The paper deals with regularity issues regarding bounded weak solutions of the degenerate quasilinear equations generated by a system of Grushin vector fields, \[ \operatorname{div}\,A(z,u,\nabla_\lambda u)+B(z,u,\nabla_\lambda u)=0\quad \text{in}\ \Omega. \] Here \(\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^N,\) \(N=n+m\geq 2,\) is a bounded domain, \(z=(x,y),\) \(x\in\mathbb{R}^n,\) \(y\in\mathbb{R}^m.\) The nonlinear terms satisfy suitable coercivity conditions with degeneracy measured in terms of a strong \(A_\infty\)-Muckenhoupt weight and \(\nabla_\lambda u(z)=\big(\nabla_xu(z),\lambda(x)\nabla_yu(z)\big)\) with a suitable continuous function \(\lambda(x)\geq0.\) Assuming Stummel-Kato control of \(A\) and \(B\) with respect to \(z,\) the authors derive a Harnack inequality and continuity of the bounded nonnegative weak solutions of the above equation.
