Consider the linear two-point boundary value problem \[ \begin{aligned} \frac {dx}{dt} = A(t)x+\int_0^{T}K(t,s)x(s)ds+ f(t),\quad x\in \mathbb R^n,\\ Bx(0)+Cx(T) = d,\quad d\in \mathbb R^n.\end{aligned} \] A criterion for the unique solvability of this problem in terms of the original data without using the principal solution matrix or the resolvent is found.
