The author studies the connections between the asymptotic behavior of the mild solutions of the Cauchy problem \[ {\dot z}(t) = A z(t) + B u(t), \quad t \geq 0, \tag{1} \] in a Banach space \(Z\) and the existence of a bounded solution of the equation \[ \Pi S = A \Pi + BQ \tag{2} \] in \({\mathcal D}(S)\), where \(B\) and \(Q\) are bounded linear operators, \(A\) is the infinitesimal generator of a \(C_0\)-semigroup denoted by \(\{T_A(t)\}_{t\geq 0}\) on \(Z\) and \(S\) generates the \(C_0\)-semigroup \(\{T_S(t)\}_{t\geq 0}\) on a Banach space \(W\). Denoting by \(z(t)\) the mild solution of (1), the author proves that for the case when \(\{T_A(t)\}_{t\geq 0}\) is a strongly stable semigroup, \(z(t)\) asymptotically inherits the dynamics of the inputs if there exists a solution \(\Pi \in {\mathcal L}(W, Z)\) of \((2)\). He also treats the converse implication and discusses some applications.
