    Let \(f:M\to M'\) be a holomorphic map between two real algebraic \(CR\) manifolds. Denote by \(Q_{\bar w}\) and \(Q_{\bar w'}'\) the corresponding Segre varieties. The single reflection \(\mathbb V_z'\) is \(r_{M'}(f(Q_{\bar z}))= \{w':Q_{\bar w'}'\supset f(Q_{\bar z})\}\); the second reflection is the set \(\mathbb X_{z,\bar w}'=\mathbb V_z'\cap r_{M'}(\mathbb V_w')\). These sets have the property that \(f(z)\in\mathbb V_z'\cap\mathbb X_{z,\bar w}'\). NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEIn the paper the author defines a third set \(\mathbb W_z'\) such that \(f(z)\in\mathbb W_z'\cap r_{M'}(\mathbb W_w')=:\mathbb Z_{z,\bar w}'\), showing that \(\mathbb X_{z,\bar w}'\subset \mathbb V_z'\) and \(\mathbb Z_{z,\bar w}'\subset\mathbb W_z'\subset\mathbb V_z'\) with inclusions that can be strict, whereas neither of the inclusions \(\mathbb X_{z,\bar w}'\subset\mathbb Z_{z,\bar w}'\), nor \(\mathbb X_{z,\bar w}'\supset\mathbb Z_{z,\bar w}'\) hold in general. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThese sets are used to prove that, under suitable assumptions, \(f\) is real-algebraic.
