The authors simplify and slightly abstract the spectral theory for affine functions which was suggested in [\textit{E.\,A.\thinspace Alfsen} and \textit{F.\,W.\thinspace Shultz},`` Non-commutative spectral theory for affine function spaces on convex sets, Mem.\ Am.\ Math.\ Soc.\ 172 (1976; Zbl 0337.46013)].
