Subgroups of polynomial automorphisms with diagonalizable fibers
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: Let be an integral domain over a field , and a subgroup of the automorphism group of the polynomial ring over . In this paper, we discuss when is diagonalizable under the assumption that is diagonalizable over the field of fractions of . We are particularly interested in the case where is a finite abelian group. Kraft-Russell (2014) implies that every finite abelian subgroup of is diagonalizable if is an affine PID over . One of the main results of this paper says that the same holds for a PID over any field containing enough roots of unity.
