A uniform algebra is associated with each cyclic subnormal operator, and a map is defined from the spectrum of the operator into the maximal ideal space of the uniform algebra. Affirmative answers as to whether this map is continuous are given under reasonable hypothesis on the structure of the spectrum of the operator.
