The wave kernel on asymptotically complex hyperbolic manifolds

From MaRDI portal

Asymptotically complex hyperbolic manifolds were introduced by \textit{C. L. Epstein} et al. [Acta Math. 167, No. 1--2, 1--106 (1991; Zbl 0758.32010)] and then studied extensively in the context of the Complex Analysis. In the present paper the author addresses the wave kernel of the Laplacian on them. The general aim is the extension of the results of \textit{M. S. Joshi} and \textit{A. Sá Barreto} [J. Funct. Anal. 184, No. 2, 291--312 (2001; Zbl 0997.58010)] concerning asymptotically real hyperbolic manifolds. In particular the wave propagator is expressed by a suitable Fourier integral operator. By means of this, the author proves that the singular support of the wave trace is contained in the set of the periods of the closed geodesics. Note that the present framework -- the standard trace -- needs a regularized definition, in the Hadamard sense. A precise asymptotic expansion is given for the inverse Fourier transform of the trace, after cutting off the singularities. As interesting application, the author recaptures a result of \textit{Y. Matsumoto} [Differ. Geom. Appl. 45, 78--114 (2016; Zbl 1350.32033)], concerning re-normalized volumes.
