Uniform bounds in Waring's problem over some diagonal forms
From MaRDI portal
Abstract: We investigate the existence of representations of every large positive integer as a sum of -th powers of integers represented as certain diagonal forms. In particular, we consider a family of diagonal forms and discuss the problem of giving a uniform upper bound over the family for the number of variables needed to have such representations.
This technical paper extends classical Waring's problem to representation of large natural numbers \(n\) as \[ n = \sum_{j=1}^s x_j^\ell, \] where the \(x_j\) belong to some special sparse set. The circle method is used for the proofs.
