Wave packet analysis of semigroups generated by quadratic differential operators

From MaRDI portal

Time-frequency methods, in particular the so-called Gabor Analysis, were initially addressed to problems in Signal Theory, see [\textit{K. Gröchenig}, Foundations of time-frequency analysis. Boston, MA: Birkhäuser (2001; Zbl 0966.42020)]. In these last years attention of the scholars is attracted by applications to partial differential equations, see [\textit{E. Cordero} and \textit{L. Rodino}, Time-frequency analysis of operators. Berlin: De Gruyter (2020; Zbl 1564.35002)]. In this framework the author studies here operators generated by quadratic Weyl symbols, see for example [\textit{K. Pravda-Starov} et al., Math. Nachr. 291, No. 1, 128--159 (2018; Zbl 1384.35107)]. The class considered here includes heat type equations, heat-Hermite equation and Schrödinger equations with empty singular space. The main results are sharp almost-diagonalization estimates for the Gabor matrix of the corresponding propagators and, as a consequence, boundedness in modulation spaces with optimal explicit bounds. The relevant example of the Kramer-Fokker-Planck operator is discussed in the final section.
