Continuous left and right generalized inverses can be constructed for closed upper and lower semi-Fredholm operators which have topologically complemented ranges and kernels in Banach spaces. These subclasses of relatively regular operators are stable under small and compact additive perturbation. The authors extend these results to multivalued operators in arbitrary normed linear spaces. Their main results improve characterisation theorems, especially extending them to nonclosed multivalued operators. They investigate properties of adjoints of Atkinson relations.
