The authors classify all the graded simple modules for the vertex operator algebras associated with vertex algebroids. For every \(1\)-truncated conformal algebra the authors construct a Lie algebra, generalizing the construction of affine Lie algebras. This algebra is then used to construct a certain graded vertex algebra and some graded modules over this algebra. Then the authors follow [\textit{V. Gorbounov, F. Malikov} and \textit{V. Schechtman}, Invent. Math. 155, No. 3, 605--680 (2004; Zbl 1056.17022)] and define a vertex algebra \(V_B\) associated with a vertex \(A\)-algebroid \(B\) as a quotient vertex algebra (here \(A\) is a unital commutative associative algebra). Associated to each vertex \(A\)-algebroid \(B\) there is a natural Lie \(A\)-algebroid. The main result of this paper asserts that the equivalence classes of graded simple \(V_B\)-modules are in a one-to-one correspondence with the equivalence classes of simple modules for the associated Lie \(A\)-algebroid.
