In the paper under review, the authors study the automorphism groups of a certain family of simple vertex operator algebras (VOAs) associated with lattices. Suppose \(L\) is a positive definite even lattice, \(V_{L}\) is the canonical construction of a VOA based on \(L\) [see, e.g., \textit{C. Dong}, J. Algebra 161, No. 1, 245--265 (1993; Zbl 0807.17022)]. It is well-known that an arbitrary isometry of \(L\) gives rise to an automorphism of \(V_{L}\). In particular, the inversion of \(L\) can be lifted to an (involutive) automorphism of \(V_{L}\). The main object of study is the algebra \(V_L^+\) of all fixed points of \(V_L\) under this automorphism. The problem is to determine the group \(\Aut\, V_{L}^+\). This paper continues the result of [\textit{C. Dong} and \textit{R. L. Griess jun.}, J. Algebra 208, No. 1, 262--275 (1998; Zbl 0918.17023)] in the following two cases: 1) The lattice \(L\) has no vectors of norm \(2\) or \(4\); 2) \(L\) has rank \(2\).
