Let \(V_L\) be a vertex operator algebra associated to an arbitrary positive definite even lattice \(L\). Let \(\theta\) be an automorphism of the vertex operator algebra \(V_L\) lifted from the \(-1\) isometry of \(L\). Then the \(\theta\) invariants \(V_L ^{+}\) form a simple vertex operator algebra. The study of \(V_L^{+}\) is very important because this construction provides a class of vertex operator algebras with integer central charges. In the rank one case the irreducible \(V_L^{+}\)-modules were classified by \textit{C. Dong} and \textit{K. Nagatomo} [Commun. Math. Phys. 202, 169--195 (1999; Zbl 0929.17033)] by using the theory of Zhu's algebras. Then Zhu's algebra \(A(V_L^{+})\) is commutative with one exception. In the paper under review the authors classify all irreducible \(V_L^{+}\)-modules in the general case. This case requires a different approach since for higher ranks Zhu's algebra is noncommutative. The authors prove that, as in the rank one case, any irreducible module for \(V_L^{+}\) is isomorphic to either a submodule of an irreducible \(V_L\)-module or a submodule of an irreducible \(\theta\)-twisted \(V_L\)-module.
