    This paper studies the regularity of the Navier-Stokes equations in ordinary Lipschitz domains. It is shown that a successful strategy for solving the Navier-Stokes equations involves the following three steps: {\parindent=8mm \begin{itemize}\item[(i)] Recasting the system as an abstract initial value problem. \item[(ii)] Converting the abstract initial value problem into an integral equation. \item[(iii)] Solving the integral equation by a fixed point method, such as the Picard iterative scheme. \end{itemize}}
