Period function monotonicity of planar vector fields (Q2519731): Difference between revisions

The paper is focused on the monotonicity of the associated period function of planar differential systems possessing a center at the origin in order to derive condition for its isochronicity. The author introduces functional conditions for the origin to be a center and deduces sufficient conditions for the monotonicity of the period function and the isochronicity of the center for planar differential systems reducible to the equation \(\ddot{x}=f(x,\dot{x})\). Three examples exhibiting applications of the results are presented.
