Let \(A\) and \(B\) be uniform algebras on compact Hausdorff spaces \(X\) and \(Y\), respectively, and let \(T: A\to B\) be a surjection such that \(\sigma_\pi(Tf\,Tg)\cap\sigma_\pi(fg)\neq\emptyset\) for every \(f,g\in A\), where \(\sigma_\pi(f)\) is the peripheral spectrum of \(f\in A\), i.e., \(\sigma_\pi(f)=\{z\in\sigma(f): |z|=\max_{u\in\sigma(f)}|u|\}\) (such operators are also called \textit{weakly peripherally-multiplicative}). As shown by \textit{S. Lambert, A. Luttman} and the reviewer [Contemporary Mathematics 435, 265--281 (2007; Zbl 1148.46030)], if \(\sigma_\pi(Tf)=\sigma_\pi(f)\) for all \(f\in A\), then \(T\) is necessarily a composition operator on the Choquet boundary \(\delta B\), i.e., there exists a homeomorphism \(\psi:\delta B\to\delta A\) so that \((Tf)(y)=f(\psi(y))\) for all \(f\in A\) and \(y\in\delta B\). For function algebras, a similar result is proven by the reviewer [Banach Center Publications 91, 411--421 (2010; Zbl 1217.46034)]. The present authors show that, in the case when \(X\) and \(Y\) both are first-countable compact Hausdorff spaces, then weakly peripherally-multiplicative operators are necessarily weighted composition operators on the Choquet boundary of \(B\). In addition, they show that, if \(T_1,T_2: A\to B\) are surjective mappings such that \(\sigma_\pi(T_1f\,T_2g)\cap\sigma_\pi(fg)\neq\emptyset\) for all \(f,g\in A\), then \((T_21)\,T_1f=(T_11)\,T_2f\) for each \(f\in A\), and \((T_21)\,T_1\) is an isometric algebra isomorphism. Similar results are obtained by \textit{R. Shindo} [``Weakly peripherally-multiplicative conditions and isomorphisms between uniform algebras'', Publ. Math. 78, No.~3--4, 675--685 (2011)].
