The classical Aczél inequality is known as follows: Let \(a_{i}, b_{i}\) \((i=1,2,\dots, n)\) be positive numbers such that \(\sum_{i} a_{i}^{2}<1\) or \(\sum_{i} b_{i}^{2}<1\), then \[ \left(1-\sum_{i=1}^{n} a_{i}b_{i}\right)^{2}\geq \left( 1-\sum_{i=1}^{n} a_{i}^{2}\right) \left( 1-\sum_{i=1}^{n} b_{i}^{2}\right). \] The author shows several operator versions of the Aczél inequality. In fact, he obtains extensions of Aczél's inequality via the geometric mean of operators, via positive linear functionals, and via unitarily invariant norms.
