The authors consider radial blow-up solutions of the equation \(u_{tt}=\Delta u+| u| ^{p-1}u\). First, they give a new Lyapunov functional for the above equation and the energy space estimate of its solution. They study the set of all non-characteristic points, in particular, they show that the blow-up set near the non-zero non-characteristic points is of class \(C^1\) and that the set of the characteristic points consists of concentric spheres, whose number is finite in every annulus \(\{\frac{1}{R}\leq | x| \leq R\}\) for any \(R>1\).
