In this paper, the study of existence of random fixed point theorems for a larger family of operators such as the pseudo-contractive type is continued from [\textit{R. Fierro}, \textit{C. Martínez} and \textit{C. H. Morales}, Fixed Point Theory Appl. 2009, Article ID 584178 (2009; Zbl 1187.47044)], and a general principle to prove the existence of random fixed points is obtained. Furthermore, various generalizations for pseudocontractive mappings with rather simple proofs are given. The results presented in this paper improve and extend many known results in the recent literature.
