A Bol algebra is a triple \((B,[.,.],\{.,.,.\})\), where \((B,\{.,.,.\})\) is a Lie triple system and \([.,.]\) is a binary anticommutative bilinear operation on \(B\) such that \(\{a,b,[c,d]\}=[\{a,b,c\},d]+[c,\{a,b,d\}]+\{c,d,[a,b]\}+[[a,b],[c,d]]\) for any \(a,b,c,d\in B\). Bol algebras appear as tangent algebras of Bol loops, and these generalize Lie groups and Moufang loops. A source of Bol algebras is shown to be given by the right (or left) alternative algebras, i.e. \((xy)y=xy^2\) (or \(y(yx)=y^2x\)) for any \(x,y\), with bilinear and trilinear maps given by \([x,y]=xy-yx\), \(\{x,y,z\}=(y\circ z)\circ x-y\circ(z\circ x)\), where \(x\circ y=xy+yx\). Then a special identity is defined as an identity satisfied by any Bol algebra obtained from a right alternative algebra, but not satisfied by all Bol algebras. In this paper it is shown that there are no special identities of degree \(\leq 7\), but that this is not so for degree \(8\). Moreover, all special identities of multidegree \((6,2)\) in two variables are shown to be consequences of a specific identity that involves \(32\) summands.
