This paper produces an alternative proof of Gammelgaard's formula of a star product with separation of variables. Let us recall that star products with separation of variables originate in the context of Berezin's quantization of Kähler manifolds. Recently, Gammelgaard has obtained a remarkable explicit formula for a general star product with separation of variables on an arbitrary Kähler manifold in terms of directed graphs without cycles. In this work, the author constructs an algebra of operators on a formal Fock space and shows the equivalence between Gammelgaard's formula and an inversion formula for an operator in this algebra. This result enables to understand why the directed Gammelgaard's graphs have no cycles.
