In the 1960's, Milnor has proved that on the \(n\)-dimensional torus there exist \(2^n\) non-equivalent spin structures. On the other hand, \textit{M. Paschke} and \textit{A. Sitarz} [Lett. Math. Phys. 77, No. 3, 317--327 (2006; Zbl 1120.58008)] proved that the \(2\)-dimensional noncommutative torus admits 4 different spin structures (a.k.a. real spectral triples). The author of the paper under review proves that on the noncommutative \(n\)-torus there exist \(2^n\) non-equivalent spin structures. The second result says that except for a set of measure zero, the different spin structures on the smooth noncommutative \(n\)-torus cannot be unitarily equivalent by an inner automorphism of the algebra. | |||
