The authors proposed a general strategy for developing numerical methods for Klein-Gordon and nonlinear Schrödinger equations whose accuracy is independent of oscillating frequencies, i.e., their orders of accuracy are preserved in all frequency regimes. The idea was to introduce a new function by separating the slow varying (independent of frequency) and fast varying (due to high frequency oscillation) parts of the time variable. This new function has an additional variable, with the value at the diagonal equal to the solution to the original equation. Then, with some suitable choice of the initial condition for the new function, the authors proved that the new function and its derivatives are bounded uniformly with respect to the oscillating frequency which leads to uniform accuracy of numerical schemes. First order and second order numerical schemes were presented and their performances were demonstrated with several numerical examples.
