Let \(G\) be the interior domain of a piecewise analytic Jordan curve without cusps. Suppose that \(\{p_n\}\) is the sequence of Bergman polynomials over \(G\). An asymptotic formula of the leading coefficient of \(p_n\) as \(n\to\infty\) is given by Theorem 1.1 in [\textit{N. Stylianopoulos}, Constr. Approx. 38, No. 1, 59--100 (2013; Zbl 1283.30006)]. The author proves that the estimate for the error term in this formula is, in general, best possible. The proof makes use of the Faber polynomials, about which a conjecture is formulated.
