Based on author's abstract: There is extended a higher-order sum rule by \textit{B. Simon} [Orthogonal polynomials on the unit circle. Part 1: Classical theory. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS) (2005; Zbl 1082.42020)] to matrix valued measures on the unit circle. There are used matrix Verblunsky coefficients which are associated with the Szegő recursion of polynomials in \(z=e^{i\theta}\) orthogonal in \(L^2([0,2\pi),d\mu)\).
