Inspired by the increased interest in Riemannian manifolds endowed with metrics that satisfy some geometric structural equations involving curvatures and some globally defined potential functions, this article focuses on Einstein-type manifolds with some structural conditions. The authors study the geometry of an Einstein-type equation on a Riemannian manifold, unifying several specific geometric structures recently discussed in the literature, such as the critical point equation and the vacuum static equation. After deriving a few relevant facts about Einstein-type manifolds in general and Einstein-type manifolds with positive scalar curvature, the authors continue their study of the geometry of Einstein-type manifolds by introducing various rigidity conditions and obtaining interesting results under several curvature conditions.
