In this paper, the author considers a class of nonlinear systems of nonautonomous differential equations of neutral type with a time-varying delay that can be unbounded. Using a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, the author establishes some estimates of solutions that help to conclude whether the solutions are stable. In the case of exponential and asymptotic stability, the author point out stabilization rates of the solutions at infinity. At first, the author considers linear systems of the following form \[ \begin{aligned} \frac{dy}{dt}=A(t)y(t)+B(t)y(t-\tau(t))+C(t)\frac{d}{dt}y(t-\tau(t)). \end{aligned} \] In the next part, the authore considers the following systems \[ \begin{aligned} \frac{dy}{dt}&=A(t)y(t)+B(t)y(t-\tau(t))+C(t)\frac{d}{dt}y(t-\tau(t))\\ &+F\bigl(t, y(t), y(t-\tau(t)), \frac{d}{dt}y(t-\tau(t))\bigr) \end{aligned} \] The author concluds the paper with several remarks and also explains how to apply the aforementioned method for perturbed systems.
