The problem of reconstructing a defective curve is considered. An approach which reduces this problem to an optimal control problem is used. The investigated solutions in previous works related with this problem show some special singularities. The aim of the present paper is to analyze the asymptotics of these solutions. The paper is an extension of previous papers by one of the authors.
