The Toeplitz algebra \({\mathcal T}\) is an algebra of bounded linear operators on a Hilbert space \({\mathcal H}\) generated by a single isometry, i.e., an operator \(S\) such that \(S^{\ast }S=I\). In view of the short exact sequence \(0\to {\mathcal K}\to {\mathcal T}\to C(S^1)\to 0\), one can interpret \({\mathcal T}\) as a deformation of the commutative algebra \(C(D)\) of continuous complex-valued functions on the unit disc \(D\). Since the classical complex projective space \({\mathbb C}P^N\) has a finite affine covering by the unit discs, the authors of the paper under review suggest a new noncommutative model for the space \({\mathbb C}P^N\) as a tensor product of the Toeplitz algebras \({\mathcal T}_i\). The main theorem says that if \(C({\mathbb P}^N({\mathcal T}))\subset \prod_{i=1}^N {\mathcal T}^{\otimes N}\) is the \(C^{\ast }\)-algebra of the Toeplitz quantum projective space and \(\pi_i: C({\mathbb P}^N({\mathcal T}))\to {\mathcal T}^{\otimes N}\) the set of canonical projections, then the set of ideals \(\ker ~\pi_i\) generates a free distributive lattice. A draft of the paper is available at \url{arXiv:1008.0673}.
