This paper deals with the finite time blow-up of classical solutions to the rotating shallow water system with prepared initial data. Based on certain existing results, the question relating to the global regularity problem has been addressed. It is shown that the classical solutions blow-up in finite time for prepared initial data because of degenerate viscosity.
