An explicit counterexample to \textit{T. Hermann}'s conjecture concerning the Bleimann-Butzer-Hahn operator [J. Szabados et al. (eds.), On the operator of Bleimann, Butzer and Hahn. Approximation theory, Proc. Conf., Kecskemét/Hung. 1990, Colloq. Math. Soc. János Bolyai 58, 355--360 (1991; Zbl 0784.41016)] is constructed.
