Quaternions are generally represented in the form \(a+b\mathbf {i} +c\mathbf {j} +d\mathbf {k}\) where \(a\), \(b\), \(c\), \(d\) are real or complex number, and \(\mathbf {i}\), \(\mathbf {j}\), \(\mathbf {k}\) are the fundamental quaternion units. Denote by \(M_{\mathbb{F}}(p, m)\) the space of \(\mathbb{F}\)-valued \((p \times m)\)-matrices, where \(\mathbb{F} = \mathbb{R}, \mathbb{C}, \mathbb{H}\). Here, \(\mathbb{H}\) is the quaternionic algebra. To use linear algebra in the quaternionic pluripotential theory, the author defines the embedding \[ \tau: M_{\mathbb{F}}(p, m)\to M_{\mathbb{C}} (2p, 2m) : \mathcal{M}=a+b\mathbf{j}\longmapsto \begin{pmatrix} a& -b\\ \overline{b} & \overline{a}\\ \end{pmatrix}, \] where \(a,b\in M_{\mathbb{C}} (p, m)\). Real 2-forms with respect to the quaternionic structure and the Moore determinant of a quaternionic hyperhermitian matrix are also considered. Finally, the author proves as a corollary that the quaternionic Monge-Ampère operator is the coefficient of the exterior product of the Baston operator.
