The inverse Galois problem over \(\mathbb{Q}\) asks whether every finite group is the Galois group of a Galois extension of \(\mathbb{Q}\). However, this problem remains widely open. Its geometric version asks whether every finite group is the Galois group of some finite Galois extension \(L/\mathbb{Q}(T)\) which is regular over \(\mathbb{Q}\) (that is, \(L \cap \overline{\mathbb{Q}}=\mathbb{Q}\)). Among sporadic groups, \(M_{23}\) is the only one that is not known to occur as a Galois group over \(\mathbb{Q}\). Besides, \(M_{22}\) is indeed a regular Galois group. In this paper, the author shows that the full covering group of \(M_{22}\) (resp., \(\Aut(M_{22})\)) which is \(12.M_{22}\) (resp., \(2.\Aut(M_{22})\)) is a regular Galois group. Moreover, new explicit polynomials realizing \(M_{22}\) and \(\Aut(M_{22})\) are also given.
