The aim of this paper is to develop a parabolic pluripotential theory on compact Kähler manifolds by defining and studying weak solutions to degenerate parabolic complex Monge-Ampère equations. Let \(X\) be a compact Kähler manifold of dimension \(n\) and let \(t\to \omega_t(x)\) be a \(\mathcal C^2\) family of closed semipositive \((1,1)\)-forms such that \(\theta(x)\leq \omega_t(x)\), where \(\theta\) is a closed semipositive big form with \[ -A\omega_t\leq \dot{\omega_t}\leq \frac {A}{t}\omega_t \ \ \text{ and } \ \ \ddot{\omega_t}\leq A\omega_t \] for some fixed constant \(A>0\). Assume also that a function \(F(t,x,r)\) defined on \([0,T)\times X\times \mathbb R\) is quasi-increasing in \(r\) and locally uniformly Lipschitz and semiconvex in \((t,r)\) and a function \(g\in L^p(X,dV)\), for \(p>1\), \(g>0\) a.e., where \(dV\) is a fixed normalized volume form on \(X\). The authors develop a parabolic pluripotential approach to the following Monge-Ampère flow \[ \left(\omega_t+i\partial\overline{\partial}\varphi_t\right)^n=e^{\dot{\varphi_t}+F(t,x,\varphi)}g(x)dV. \] The authors introduce a notion of pluripotential solutions to the above equations, a parabolic analogue of the pluripotential theory developed by Bedford and Taylor. In particular a comparison principle and stability results are proved. Finally, the developed theory is applied to the study of the Kähler-Ricci flow on varieties with log terminal singularities and nonnegative Kodaira dimension.
