    Solutions in form of convergent series are given for the initial value problem \(\ddot x+\alpha^ mx^ 2=\beta^ mx^{m+2},\) \(x(0)=A\) and \(\dot x(0)=0\), \(m\geq 1\). This is done by adopting a technique of \textit{A. A. Shidfar} and \textit{A. A. Sadeghi}, [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 120, 488-493 (1986; Zbl 0618.34012)].
