The \(m\)-cluster category of a simply laced Dynkin quiver is given by the quotient of the bounded derived category of a hereditary category of this Dynkin quiver modulo the composition of the degree \(m\) shift functor and of the inverse Auslander-Reiten translate. An \(m\)-cluster tilting object is meant to be an object \(T\) so that \(\text{Ext}^i(T,X)=0\) for all \(1\leq i\leq m\) if and only if \(X\) is in the additive closure of \(T\), and \(\text{Ext}^i(X,T)=0\) for all \(1\leq i\leq m\) if and only if \(X\) is in the additive closure of \(T\). The cluster tilted algebra is the endomorphism algebra of a cluster tilting object. The present paper proves that an \(m\)-cluster tilted algebra of Dynkin type \(A\) is a gentle algebra of a very restricted class. Moreover, a canonical form to classify \(m\)-cluster tilted algebras of type \(A_n\) up to derived equivalence is given. The derived equivalence classification is done by explicitly giving tilting complexes. The verification that two standard forms belong to different derived categories is done using the Cartan matrices computed by Bessenrodt and Holm.
