The author considers a Sasakian spin manifold \((M^{2m+1},\phi,\xi,\eta,g)\), the Levi-Civita connection \(\nabla\) acting on sections \(\psi\) of the spinor bundle \(\Sigma(M)\), a natural deformation \(\overline\nabla\) of \(\nabla\) in the subbundle \(\xi^\perp\subset T(M)\), and the generalized Dirac operator \(D_{ab}\) given by \[ D_{ab}=\overline C+aD_0+\Big(b-{{1}\over{2}} \Big)\xi\circ\Phi,\quad \;a,b\in \mathbb{R}, \] where \(\overline C\psi=\sum_{u=1}^{2m}E_u\cdot \overline{\nabla}_{E_u}\psi\), \((E_1,\dots, E_{2m},E_{2m+1}=\xi)\) is a local orthonormal frame, ``\(\cdot\)'' denotes the Clifford multiplication, and \(D_0=\xi\circ\nabla_\xi-{{1}\over{2}}\xi\circ\Phi\), with \(\Phi=g(\cdot,\phi(\cdot)).\) In the context of a closed Sasakian spin manifold, the author defines the notions of Sasakian twistor spinor, \(\varphi\)-Killing spinor and Sasakian Killing spinor with caracteristic number \(c\), and gives several necessary conditions for their existence. In Proposition 4.1 he shows that on a closed Sasakian spin manifold there exist two types of eigenspinors of \(D_{ab}\) with eigenvalue \(\lambda\). More exactly, any eigenspinor \(\psi\in E^\lambda(D_{ab})\) is a section of \(\Sigma_p\) for some \(p\in\{0,1,\dots,m\}\) or a section of \(\Sigma_r\oplus\Sigma_{r+1}\) for some \(r\in\{0,1,\dots,m-1\}\). The main result of the paper (Theorem 5.3) provides some eigenvalue estimates for the generalized Dirac operator \(D_{ab}\) on a closed Sasakian spin manifold \((M^{2m+1},\phi,\xi,\eta,g)\) of dimension bigger than \(7\), when \(0<a\leq 1,\;0\leq b\leq{{1}\over{2}}\) and the minimum of the scalar curvature satisfies a certain inequality involving \(a,b\) and \(m\). The obtained eigenvalue estimates improve those from [\textit{T. Friedrich}, Math. Nachr. 97, 117--146 (1980; Zbl 0462.53027)]. By adapting the hypothesis of Theorem 5.3 to the context of an \(\eta\)-Einstein Sasakian spin manifold \((M^{2m+1},\phi,\xi,\eta,g)\), with \(m\leq 3\), the author proves a theorem that gives some eigenvalue estimates for \(D_{ab}\) on the mentioned manifold (Theorem 6.2).
