    Let \({\mathcal A}\) denote the class of functions of the form \[ f(z)= z+ \sum^\infty_{n=2} a_n z^n, \] which are analytic in \({\mathcal U}= \{z:|z|< 1\}\) and let \(S\), \(S^*\), \({\mathcal K}\) and \(C\) denote the subclasses of univalent, starlike, convex and close-to-convex functions, respectively. For a given function \(\phi\) such that \(\phi\in{\mathcal A}\), \(\phi(0)= 1\), \(\text{Re\,}\phi(z)> 0\) for \(z\in{\mathcal U}\) we can define the subclasses: \[ \begin{aligned} S^{(k)}_s(\phi)&= \Biggl\{f\in{\mathcal A}: {zf'(z)\over f_k(z)}\prec \phi(z)\Biggr\},\\ C^{(k)}_s(\phi)&= \Biggl\{f\in{\mathcal A}: {(zf'(z))'\over f_k'(z)}\prec \phi(z)\Biggr\}, \end{aligned} \] where the symbol \(\prec\) stands for the subordination of functions in \({\mathcal U}\) and \[ f_k(z)= {1\over k} \sum^{k-1}_{\nu= 0} \varepsilon^{-\nu} f(\varepsilon^\nu z),\quad \varepsilon^k= 1. \] In this paper the authors present many properties of functions from these classes. They give the integral representations, the growth distortion, covering theorems and some convolution properties. In many cases the extremal functions are the functions \(k_{\phi n}\), \(h_{\phi n}\) defined respectively by equalities \[ 1+{zk^{\prime\prime}_{\phi n}(z)\over k_{\phi n}'(z)}= \phi(z^{n-1}),\quad h_{\phi n}(z)= zk_{\phi n}'(z). \]
