Let \(n\), \(p\), \(r\), \(s\) be fixed natural numbers. The following sets of \(n\)-semistandard tableaux are considered: \(P\)-tableaux of shape \(r\times p\); \(S\)-tableaux of shape \(1\times s\); \(R_ k\)-tableaux of shape \(p+ s- k\), \(p,\dots, p, k\) (\(r+1\) rows). The bijection between \(P\times S\) and \(\bigcup_ 0^{\min(p,s)} R_ k\) is established. This leads to a combinatorial interpretation for a four parameter terminating sum identity \({_ 6\phi_ 5}\). This identity is first produced by taking the principal specialization of a tensor product identity for two \(\text{GL}(n)\) characters.
